44 Operating university
(1)
A person must not operate, or purport to operate, in the
Territory as a university or part of a university unless the person is a university.
Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 500 penalty units.
If the offender is a body corporate – 2 500 penalty units.
(2)
A person must not hold out an educational institution, educational facility, school, college or other place that provides a course of education as being a university unless it is a university.
Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 500 penalty units.
If the offender is a body corporate – 2 500 penalty units.
