14 Conduct of internal review

(1)

Within 30 days after receiving an application in accordance with regulation 13, the internal reviewer must, subject to subregulation (2), review the reviewable decision and notify the affected person, in writing, of the outcome of the review.

(2)

The internal reviewer may refuse to review a decision if satisfied that the application for review was not made within 30 days after the affected person was notified of the decision.

(3)

If subregulation (2) applies, the internal reviewer is taken to have confirmed the reviewable decision.

(4)

A review must be conducted fairly and with as much expedition as a proper consideration of the matter permits.

(5)

A review must not be conducted by the officer or employee who made the reviewable decision the subject of the review.
