21 Duty and responsibility of poundkeeper

(1)

The poundkeeper of every pound shall receive into his custody any cattle impounded in the pound, and shall detain them in his custody, whether in the pound or elsewhere, until they are released, sold or otherwise disposed of according to this Act.

(2)

The poundkeeper shall be responsible to the owner of any cattle impounded for loss or damage sustained by the poundkeeper's wilful act or neglect, or the wilful act or neglect of any of his agents or servants, but not otherwise, until the cattle impounded are released, sold or otherwise disposed of according to this Act.
