Waste Management and Pollution Control Act 1998

The purpose of a compliance plan is to enable a person who, for reasons satisfactory to the NT EPA, is or will be unable to comply with a provision of the Regulations or of an environment protection objective to enter into a compliance plan that, through requiring the implementation in stages of improvements in waste management and the prevention, reduction, control, rectification or clean up of pollution or environmental harm resulting from pollution, will enable at the conclusion of the program the person to comply with the provision.
