For the purposes of section 68(3)(a), a person is only to be taken to be qualified to perform an environmental audit for the purposes of an environmental audit program or to perform a prescribed activity if he or she:

has successfully completed a relevant training course approved by the NT EPA at an educational institution approved by the NT EPA;

is accredited by a body or organisation approved by the NT EPA;

or

is a person, or is a member of a class of persons, who or which the NT EPA has approved under subsection (2).

The NT EPA may approve in writing a person or a class of persons for the purposes of subsection (1)(c) where the NT EPA is of the opinion that the person or class of persons should be regarded as qualified by virtue of qualifications or experience.
