Part 5Liquid fuel emergency

25 Permits

(1)

During a period of emergency the Minister may issue a permit to any person for the purchase of liquid fuel in relation to which the emergency is declared to exist, if the Minister is satisfied that it is in the public interest to do so.

(2)

A permit under subsection (1) may be issued subject to—

(a)

conditions of limitation, by reference to a specified maximum quantity of liquid fuel authorised to be purchased pursuant to the permit, by reference to the requirement to deliver up coupons upon the purchase of liquid fuel pursuant to the permit, or by reference to such other means as are specified therein; and

(b)

such other conditions as the Minister thinks fit and specifies therein.

(3)

A permit issued under subsection (1) shall cease to be of any validity upon the expiration of the period of emergency during which it was issued or upon the cancellation of the permit under section 28.
