127 Conditions of water bore driller’s licence—Act, s 983A
For section 983A(1)(a) of the Act, the following are the conditions for a water bore driller’s licence—
water bore drilling activities that tap an aquifer in the sediments of an artesian basin must be carried out in accordance with ‘Minimum standards for the construction and reconditioning of water bores that intersect the sediments of artesian basins in Queensland’, published on a Queensland Government website;
other water bore drilling activities must be carried out in accordance with ‘Minimum construction requirements for water bores in Australia’, published, or otherwise made available free of charge, on a Queensland Government website;
if a development approval is required to carry out particular water bore drilling activities, the licence holder must see the approval and carry out the activities in accordance with the approval;
development that is operational work involving works for taking or interfering with underground water through a subartesian bore must comply with the requirements provided for in section 99(2) to the extent the requirements apply to the work;
the licence has effect for a period of 10 years.
