Board may grant extension of certain time periods
14 Board may grant extension of certain time periods
The Board may, on application or on its own motion, extend, by such period as the Board thinks fit, 1 or both of the following:
the period within which a specified dog or cat must be microchipped under section 42A of the Act;
the period within which a specified dog or cat must be desexed under section 42E of the Act.
An extension—
may be conditional or unconditional; and
may be varied or revoked by the Board for any reason the Board thinks fit.
On extending a period under subregulation (1), the Board must issue to the owner of the dog or cat a notice in writing (a notice of extension)—
identifying the person to whom the notice is issued;
and
identifying the dog or cat to which the notice relates;
and
specifying the date by which each dog or cat to which the notice relates must be microchipped or desexed or both (as the case requires).
