Locally registered foreign lawyer—show cause event
32 Locally registered foreign lawyer—show cause event
This clause applies to a show cause event that happens in relation to a locally registered foreign lawyer.
The locally registered foreign lawyer must provide to the Society both of the following:
within 7 days after the happening of the event—notice, in the approved form, that the event happened;
within 28 days after the happening of the event—a written statement explaining why, despite the show cause event, the person considers themselves to be a fit and proper person to be a locally registered foreign lawyer.
If a written statement is provided after the 28 days mentioned in subclause (2)(b), the Society may accept the statement and take it into consideration.
