Public Trustee Act 1995

If, after 20 years from the date of the publication in the Gazette of the order by which the Public Trustee was appointed manager of any land, no person has established a claim to the land and the Public Trustee has not become aware of the existence and whereabouts of any person who has a claim to the land—

the land vests in the Crown (if it has not previously been sold by the Public Trustee under this Part);

money held by the Public Trustee and derived from the land must be paid to the Treasurer for the credit of the Consolidated Account.

If, after seven years from the date of the publication in the

Gazette of the order by which the Public Trustee was appointed manager of any property other than land, no person has established a claim to the property and the Public Trustee has not become aware of the existence and whereabouts of any person who has a claim to the property—

the property vests in the Crown (if, in the case of property other than money, it has not previously been sold by the Public Trustee under this

Part);

money held by the Public Trustee and derived from the property must be paid to the Treasurer for the credit of the Consolidated

Account.
