66 Prohibiting convicted persons from involvement in handling of explosives
In sentencing a person for an offence against this Act, a court may, having regard to the matters referred to in subsection (2) and to such other matters as it thinks fit, and in addition to any other penalty, order that the person be prohibited for a specified period from having any involvement, or a particular involvement, in the handling of explosives.
The matters to which the court is to have regard are – the person's record in the handling of explosives; and any prior convictions of the person relating to explosives; and the circumstances surrounding the commission of the offence for which the person is being sentenced.
A person who contravenes an order under this section is guilty of an offence. In the case of – a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 2 500 penalty units; and an individual, a fine not exceeding 500 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.
