27 Special agreements to supply water inside the water district
Subject to this Act, the undertakers may enter into an agreement under seal with the owner of any land situate within the water district for the supply of water to that land for a term of years, not exceeding fourteen years, at a price by measure to be stated in the agreement, not less than the current price of water supplied by measure by them.
In every such agreement the owner of the land shall agree to pay the price stated in the agreement for the term limited in the agreement, and to take not less water in any year than the minimum quantity specified in the agreement, and any such agreement by the owner shall be deemed to be a covenant running with the land, and shall bind the land and the successive owners thereof during the said term.
Nothing in any such agreement shall be construed to create any obligation on the part of the undertakers to supply any stated quantity of water in the event of any insufficiency of water as provided in section thirty, but in that event the owner of any land shall pay for the water actually supplied to him at the price provided for in the agreement.
