The prescribed qualifications and the prescribed experience for registration in the class of commercial builder (limited to steel erection work) are—

the successful completion of a certificate in rigging (CPC30711) from an RTO, including the required unit of competency and the additional units of competency; and

at least 2 years of practical experience.

For the purposes of this clause, the additional units of competency are—

identify construction work hazards and select risk control strategies (CPCCWHS3001); and

select and prepare a construction contract (CPCCBC4003A); and

produce labour and material schedules for ordering (CPCCBC4005A); and

read and interpret plans and specifications (CPCCBC4012B); and

apply structural principles to commercial low rise constructions (CPCCBC4011B); and

arrange building applications and approvals (CPCCBC4026A).

For the purposes of this clause, the required unit of competency is perform advanced structural steel erection (CPCCRI3014A).
