18A Power to give directions
An inspector may give a direction (either orally or in writing) to a person at a place if the inspector reasonably believes that it is necessary to do so because of an immediate risk to the safety of any person or of damage to any property arising out of the presence of dangerous goods or any related thing.
A person must not, without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with a direction given to the person under subsection (1).
- 500 penalty units for a natural person;
2500 penalty units for a body corporate.
An offence against subsection (2) is an indictable offence.

Note
However, the offence may be heard and determined summarily (see section 28 of the Criminal Procedure Act 2009).
