Pipelines Act 2005

A licensee may apply to the Minister for authority to use the pipeline to convey a thing other than the thing authorised by the licence.

The application must—

state the thing authorised to be conveyed; and

state the thing proposed to be conveyed; and

state whether the conveyance is to be instead of or in addition to the conveyance of the thing already authorised; and

include an assessment in accordance with the regulations of the potential risks to safety and the environment of the proposal; and

include details of the consultation carried out in relation to the application under section 112; and

be accompanied by the prescribed fee.

The Minister may—

authorise the use of the pipeline for the conveyance of the thing; or

refuse the application.

An authority under this section may be given subject to any terms and conditions that the Minister considers necessary.
