12 Eligibility for appointment
When recommending persons for appointment as commissioners, the Minister must ensure as far as is practicable that collectively the commissioners have the following—
regulatory experience;
financial or commercial qualifications or experience;
at least 5 years' practice as an Australian legal practitioner;
any other qualifications, experience or expertise that the Minister considers relevant.
Despite subsection (1), a person is not eligible for appointment as a commissioner if the person has, at any time in the previous 2 years, been employed by, or significantly associated with—
a key operative; or
a bookmaker; or
a commercial raffle organiser.
