19 Listing of threatened species
(1)
The Minister may, by order, list a native species as a threatened species in one of the following categories —
(a)
critically endangered species;
(b)
endangered species;
(c)
vulnerable species.
(2)
A native species is not eligible for listing as a threatened species if it is an extinct species.
(3)
When deciding whether or not to list a native species as a threatened species or to amend or repeal such a listing, the Minister must have regard only to matters relating to the survival of the species.
(4)
Section 258 applies to an order made under subsection (1).
