201 Power to stop and enter vehicles and ancillary powers

(1)

For inspection purposes a wildlife officer may at any time stop and enter a vehicle other than a mobile home.

(2)

If under subsection (1) a wildlife officer may stop a vehicle, the officer may use any means that are reasonably necessary in the circumstances to do so, including means that obstruct the passage of other vehicles.

(3)

Subsection (2) does not authorise the use of means that are likely to cause death or grievous bodily harm to any person, whether or not in a vehicle.

(4)

A wildlife officer who under subsection (1) stops a vehicle may —

(a)

detain the vehicle for a reasonable period; and

(b)

move the vehicle to a place suitable for carrying out an inspection.
