141 Establishment of accounts, management committees and schemes

(1)

The Governor may make regulations establishing —

(a)

an account for a prescribed sector of agricultural activity; and

(b)

a management committee for the account consisting of either or both of the following —

(i)

producers from that sector of agricultural activity;

(ii)

persons who have a financial interest in that sector of agricultural activity;

and

(c)

a scheme requiring or facilitating the payment of contributions to the account.

(2)

The regulations may relate to an agricultural activity in the whole of the State or in part of the State.

(3)

Before the regulations are made, the Minister must consult with —

(a)

each organisation (if any) that is prescribed for the purposes of this section; and

(b)

any other association, union or body that in the opinion of the Minister is representative of the interests of producers from the sector of agricultural activity for which the account is to be established; and

(c)

such producers from the sector of agricultural activity for which the account is to be established as the Minister thinks fit.
