194 Decision at meetings
Unless subsection (4) requires it to be determined by a poll, a question for decision at a general meeting is to be determined by a show of hands.
A person, whether or not a proxy, may exercise only one vote on a question determined by a show of hands.
A proxy may exercise more than one vote on a question determined by a poll, unless the rules of the co‑operative restrict the number of votes that a proxy may exercise.
A question is to be determined by a poll if —
5 members, present in person at the meeting or represented at the meeting by a proxy, demand the poll; or
the chairperson directs that the question will be determined by poll.
In the case of an equality of votes, whether on a show of hands or on a poll, the chairperson of the meeting at which the show of hands takes place or at which the poll is demanded may exercise a casting vote if the rules so provide.
