80E Registration of change of name
(1)
The WA Registrar must not register a change of name under the Registration Act if —
(a)
the WA Registrar knows that the change of name relates to the name of a reportable offender; and
(b)
the WA Registrar has not received a copy of the written notice of approval of the Commissioner under section 80D.
(2)
If the WA Registrar does not register a change of name because of the operation of subsection (1), the WA Registrar must give written notice to the Commissioner of the application to register the change of name.
