Requirement to mitigate damage

In force

(1)

A person who is convicted of an offence under this Act of causing damage to any property must take such reasonable steps as may be necessary to prevent any further damage resulting from the offence.

(2)

A person who fails to take reasonable steps as required under subsection (1) commits an offence.

Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $50 000 for each day on which the failure continues.
