Is it within range? Now you can ask.
Comparable sentences, with every figure traced to the judgment.
You can now ask Barrister AI where a sentence sits in the range and get an answer built from real cases.
Ask a question such as "is a wholly suspended sentence within range for this offence?" and you get a table of comparable cases. Each row sets out the facts, the sentence at first instance, what happened on appeal, the factors the court weighed and the range the court stated. Cases are matched by how serious the offending was, so a grievous-harm appeal isn't passed off as a comparable for a simple offence. Every figure is checked against the judgment, and Barrister AI won't state a number it can't trace. It never presents a standard non-parole period as a sentence.
Certified range figures started with NSW wounding with intent, drug supply, armed robbery, break and enter, and sexual assault. They also cover WA drug offences and Queensland dangerous driving. We are extending them to more offences each month, and the first-instance sentences behind them come from the District, County and Supreme Courts as well as the appeal courts.
Sentencing advice and submissions, drafted from your brief
Upload the brief (indictment or court attendance notice, facts, antecedents, reports) and ask for advice on likely sentence, or submissions on sentence for either side. Barrister AI reads the charges, including from poor scans, and works out the court and the plea. It lists its assumptions so you can correct them, then builds a schedule of comparable sentences from real data. It won't leave the schedule out or invent one. The draft exports to Word and can follow your own style.
Your clients' material stays confidential
We have a plain-English article on privilege and confidentiality, and a Private option that stops model providers retaining your Memo or conversation. No model trains on your work either way.
Barrister AI supports your judgment and doesn't replace it. Check every authority before you rely on it.
