211 Publication orders
If a court convicts a person, or finds a person guilty, of an offence against this Act, the court may order the person to take stated action to publicise 1 or more of the following:
the offence, including the circumstances of the offence;
the biosecurity impact of the offence;
any other consequence and any other order made against the person.
The court may fix a period for compliance and impose any other requirement that the court considers necessary or convenient for enforcement of the order.
A person commits an offence if the person—
is subject to an order under this section; and
intentionally fails to comply with the order.
Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.
If a person fails to comply with an order under subsection (1), the director‑general may take action to carry out the order.
The director‑general may recover from the person the reasonable costs of taking action under this section.
An amount owing under a law may be recovered as a debt in a court of competent jurisdiction or the ACAT (see Legislation Act, s 177).
