Orders to undertake training or other projects

In force

(1)

If a court convicts a person, or finds a person guilty, of an offence against this Act, the court may order the person to do 1 or more of the following:

(a)

attend, or cause an employee or contractor of the person to attend, a training or other course stated by the court;

(b)

carry out, or contribute a stated amount to the cost of carrying out, a stated project that will promote the objects of this Act.

(2)

The court may fix a period for compliance and impose any other requirements that the court considers necessary or convenient for enforcement of the order.

(3)

A person commits an offence if the person—

(a)

is subject to an order under this section; and

(b)

intentionally fails to comply with the order.

Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.

Part 14 Compensation

Note

Additional compensation may be payable under a national biosecurity agreement.
