85 Production of claims for enrolment before a court
(1)
This section applies to a person who is, or has been—
(a)
a member of the electoral commission; or
(b)
the commissioner; or
(c)
an officer; or
(d)
a member of the staff of the electoral commission.
(2)
A person to whom this section applies shall not, except for this Act, be required—
(a)
to produce in a court a claim for enrolment; or
(b)
to divulge or communicate to a court any matter or thing in relation to a claim for enrolment that has come to the person’s notice in the exercise of functions under this Act.
(3)
In this section:
court includes any tribunal, authority or person having power to require the production of documents or the answering of questions.
