24 Power t o take evidence on oath or affirmation
. (1) The Tribunal may take evidence on oath or affirmation and, for that purpose, a member may administer an oath or affirmation.
Any member of the Tribunal may, for the purposes of this Act, and any member of a Division of the Tribunal may, for the purposes of the inquiry to be conducted by that Division, by writing under his hand, summon a person to appear at an inquiry under this Act to give evidence and to produce such books and documents (if any) as are referred to in the summons.
A power conferred on a member under sub-section (2) may, in the discretion of the member, be exercised on the application of a party to the inquiry.
