Parole order to be explained to juvenile offender
93 Parole order to be explained to juvenile offender
On a juvenile offender’s day of release from the detention centre in accordance with a parole order, the centre manager must ensure that—
the order is read to the juvenile offender, and
the effect of the order is explained to the juvenile offender in language that is capable of being readily understood by the juvenile offender, and
the juvenile offender indicates that the juvenile offender understands the conditions on which the juvenile offender is to be released by signing a statement to that effect on a copy of the order, and
all copies of the order are endorsed with the juvenile offender’s date of release, and
a copy of the order is sent to the Secretary, and
a copy of the order is given to the juvenile offender, and
the copy of the order containing the signed statement referred to in paragraph (c) is retained at the detention centre.
If a juvenile offender is subject to more than one parole order, this clause does not require common provisions in the orders to be read to the juvenile offender more than once.
