29 Construction of references to retired office holders
A relevant reference to a retired or former holder of a new office is taken to include a person who, immediately before the commencement date, is a retired or former holder of the corresponding former office.
In this clause—
corresponding former office means the following—
for the office of Chief Judge—the office of Chief Magistrate,
for the office of Deputy Chief Judge—the office of Deputy Chief Magistrate,
for the office of Judge—the office of Magistrate.
relevant reference means a reference in—
this Act or another Act, or
an instrument made under this Act or another Act.
