194 Service of documents
A notice or other document required or authorised by this Act to be served or given to any person may be served—
personally; or
by leaving the notice or document at an address for service;
or
by sending the notice or document or a sealed copy of the notice or document by post addressed to the person at an address for service;
or
by sending the notice or document in the form of an electronic document or communication to the person at an electronic address for service;
or
by such other method as is permitted by regulations under this Act or by any Act.
In any case to which subsection (1)(c) applies, unless the contrary is proved, service of a notice or document will be taken to have been effected 2 business days after the date of posting.
In subsection (1)—
address for service, in relation to a person, means—
the person's last known place of residence or business;
or
an address for service as shown on a claim or a return made or furnished by the person, or on the person's behalf, under this Act (not being an address superseded by a subsequent address for service shown on a later claim or return);
electronic address for service, in relation to a person, means—
the person's last known email address; or
another facility for the receipt of electronic documents that forms
part of an electronic messaging system permitted by the regulations.
