Liability of parent or guardian

In force

If a child under the age of 18 years commits an offence under this Act, each parent or guardian of the child is taken to have committed that offence if the parent or guardian knowingly authorised or permitted the offence.

A parent or guardian may be proceeded against and convicted of an offence whether or not the minor has been proceeded against or convicted of that offence.

This section does not affect any liability of the minor for an offence committed by the minor under this Act.
