58 Regulator may require customer contracts

A regulated entity must develop a customer contract for regulated services that it provides to the regulated entity's customers by a date determined by the Regulator by notice in writing given to the regulated entity. Fine not exceeding 500 penalty units.

A regulated entity must submit a proposed customer contract that is in accordance with the customer service code to the Regulator for approval by a date determined by the Regulator by notice in writing given to the regulated entity. Fine not exceeding 100 penalty units.

The Regulator may – require amendments to be made to a proposed customer contract before approving the proposed customer contract; and draft and approve a customer contract to apply in relation to a regulated entity if a regulated entity fails to submit a proposed customer contract as required by this section or fails to amend a proposed customer contract as required by the Regulator.

This section does not apply in relation to proposed customer contracts which are submitted to the Regulator and approved as part of a price and service plan approved under section 65.
