Cladding Safety Victoria Repeal Act 2026

In section 3A(1) of the Building Act 1993—

for "Part 9B" substitute "Parts 9A and 9B";

in paragraph (a)(i), after "builder" (where twice occurring) insert "or contractor";

in paragraph (a)(ii)—

after "builder" (where twice occurring) insert "or contractor";

after "likely to receive" insert "(including for the cost of labour and materials)".

The note at the foot of section 3A(1) of the Building Act 1993 is repealed.

In section 3A(2)(a) of the Building Act 1993—

in subparagraph (i), for "builder" substitute "contractor";

in subparagraph (i), after "agreed amount" insert "(including for the cost of labour and materials)";

in subparagraph (ii), for "builder's" substitute "contractor's";

in subparagraph (ii), for "the builder" substitute "the contractor";

in subparagraph (ii), after "likely to receive" insert "(including for the cost of labour and materials)".
