22 Control of the body
(1)
This section applies if a body is in Victoria and the death is—
(a)
a reportable death or a reviewable death; or
(b)
is being investigated by a coroner.
(2)
If the death is being investigated by a coroner, the body is under the control of the coroner until the coroner releases the body under section 47.
(3)
If the death is not being investigated by a coroner, the body is taken to be under the control of the State Coroner until—
(a)
another coroner commences an investigation of the death; or
(b)
a coroner releases the body under section 47.
