Magistrates' Court General Civil Procedure Rules 2020

If the service of a document on a party to a proceeding is required or permitted, but personal service is not required, and that party has no address for service in the proceeding, the filing of the document must, unless the Court otherwise orders, have effect as service of the document on that person.

A party who serves a document by filing in accordance with paragraph (1) must indorse upon a backsheet or on the back of the last sheet a statement that the document is filed as such service.
