President of Council and Acting Chairman

(1)

The Archbishop of Melbourne shall be President of the Council and shall preside at meetings of the Council at which he is present and wishes to preside.

(2)

If, at or during a meeting of the Council, the President is not present or does not wish to preside, the members present shall elect one of their number to preside during the absence of the President or while he does not wish to preside.
