Before suspending a biosecurity permit, the director‑general must give the permit‑holder a written notice stating—

that the director‑general proposes to suspend the permit; and

the grounds for the proposed suspension; and

that the permit‑holder may, by a stated day that is at least 28 days after the day the notice is given to the permit‑holder, make a submission to the director‑general about the proposed suspension.

If the permit‑holder makes a submission before the stated day, the director‑general must take the submission into account in deciding whether to suspend the permit.
