33A Staff not subject to direction from others
(1)
The commissioner’s staff are not subject to direction from anyone other than the following people in relation to the exercise of the commissioner’s functions:
(a)
the commissioner;
(b)
another member of the commissioner’s staff authorised by the commissioner to give directions.
(2)
In this section:
staff means—
(a)
staff mentioned in section 31 (1) and section 32 (1) (a); and
(b)
a consultant mentioned in section 32 (1) (b); and
(c)
an officer mentioned in section 33.
