52 Acting members of the Commission

(1)

An appointment of a person made under subsection 8C(1) of the Repatriation Act to act in the office of a commissioner, being an appointment that had not been terminated by the Minister or by reason of the person’s resignation before the commencing date, continues in force, subject to the Veterans’ Entitlements Act, on and after that date as if it had been made under section 191 of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act.

(2)

An appointment of a person made under section 8B of the Repatriation Act to act in the office of Chairman of the Commission and also in the office under the Public Service Act 1922 of Secretary to the Department, being an appointment that had not been terminated by the Governor‑General or by reason of the person’s resignation before the commencing date, continues in force, subject to the Veterans’ Entitlements Act, on and after that date as if it were an appointment made under section 193 of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act, to act in the office of President of the Commission and also in the office, under the Public Service Act 1922, of Secretary to the Department.
