Adoption Regulation 2015

The Secretary is to keep an adoption register in which is to be entered the following—

the name of every person who has submitted an application to adopt a child under Part 3 of Chapter 4 of the Act,

the name of every person approved as suitable to adopt a child under that Part,

if a person is approved as suitable to adopt a particular child under that Part, the names of the person and of the child,

the cultural identity of every person approved as suitable to adopt a child under that Part,

details of any condition to which an approval under that Part is subject and of any information that the relevant decision-maker has been notified of in accordance with a condition of an approval under that Part,

such other particulars as the Secretary may determine.

The adoption register is to indicate, in the manner considered appropriate by the Secretary, the following—

the full name of each person approved as suitable under Part 3 of Chapter 4 of the Act to adopt a child from New South Wales and the date of the approval,

the full name of any person approved as suitable under that Part to adopt a child from overseas and the date of the approval,

whether the approval concerned was given after application to an accredited adoption service provider or the Secretary,

if the application was made to an accredited adoption service provider—the name of the service provider.
