89 Preliminary hearings
For the purposes of section 80 (1) of the Act, decisions about the following are prescribed matters in relation to which the Court may hold a preliminary hearing—
the identity of a child as an Aboriginal child or Torres Strait Islander child,
the validity of a consent to the adoption of a child,
the provision of contact with a child,
the allocation or exercise of parental responsibility for a child,
dispensing with consent,
matters relating to a child’s revocation of consent before the making of an adoption order.
For the purposes of section 80 (3) of the Act, the following classes of persons are prescribed (being persons who may apply to the Court for a preliminary hearing to be held)—
parties to an adoption,
any person approved by the Court as having sufficient interest in an adoption.
