172 Reference to drug assessment and education session by court
(1)
This section applies if a finding of guilt for an eligible drug offence is made against an eligible child before a drug diversion court.
(2)
The court may refer the child to a drug assessment and education session if the child consents to attend the session.
(3)
On making the referral, the court must—
(a)
direct the child attend a drug assessment and education session by a stated date; and
(b)
adjourn the proceeding for the offence.
