The Chief Executive Officer may give a copy of a claim for compensation for destruction, damage or loss of personal property to the officer in charge of the brigade to which the member belonged at the time of the destruction, damage or loss.
The Chief Executive Officer may request that the officer in charge of the brigade to which the member belonged at the time of the incident giving rise to the claim for compensation give the Chief Executive Officer—
a statement, signed by the officer in charge, of—
the circumstances of the incident giving rise to the claim for compensation; and
the opinion of the officer as to the claim; and
a report from any person who witnessed the incident giving rise to the claim.
