8 Court to be a court of record, constitution
(1)
The Court —
(a)
is a court of record; and
(b)
shall be constituted by a District Court judge as provided in this Act; and
(c)
has the criminal and civil jurisdiction conferred on it by this Act.
(2)
The jurisdiction of the Court is exercisable by one District Court judge, sitting in Court, or as provided in section 21, sitting in chambers.
(3)
The Court constituted by one District Court judge may sit and exercise the jurisdiction of the Court notwithstanding that the Court constituted by another District Court judge is at the same time sitting and exercising the jurisdiction of the Court.
