62K Amendment of register

(1)

An application may be made under this section to the Electoral Commissioner for the amendment of the information, or the replacement of documents, in the register of political parties in relation to a registered political party.

(2)

The application has to be made in an approved form and in a way approved by the Electoral Commissioner.

(3)

The application is to be made by the secretary of the party.

(4)

If the application is to amend the register by —

(a)

changing the name of the party to a name set out in the application; or

(b)

if an abbreviation of the name of the party is entered in the register, changing that abbreviation to an abbreviation set out in the application; or

(c)

if an abbreviation of the name of the party is not entered in the register, entering in the register an abbreviation set out in the application,

sections 62F, 62G, 62H and 62J apply to the application under this section, subject to any necessary changes, as if it were an application for registration of a political party.
