Verifying authorities
74 Verifying authorities
An appointment as a verifying authority must state:
the kind or kinds of reference standards of measurement and physical quantities of artefacts (if any) to which the appointment applies; and
the range of denominations of standards of measurement and physical quantities of artefacts (if any) that may be verified by the appointee; and
the least uncertainty with which standards of measurement and physical quantities of artefacts (if any) may be verified by the appointee.
A verifying authority may arrange for the testing needed for verification of a standard of measurement or physical quantity of an artefact to be conducted by another body or person under the supervision of the authority.
