81 Signalling devices

(1)

This section applies to a heavy motor vehicle if—

(a)

the vehicle is not fitted with a brake light mentioned in Division 10 or a direction indicator light mentioned in Division 12; and

(b)

the vehicle’s construction would otherwise prevent the driver in the normal driving position from hand signalling an intention—

(i)

to turn or move the vehicle to the right; or

(ii)

to stop or suddenly reduce the vehicle’s speed.

(2)

The heavy motor vehicle must be fitted with—

(a)

a mechanical signalling device complying with section 82; or

(b)

a pair of turn signals complying with section 83.
