Approval of draft local strategic plans
51 Approval of draft local strategic plans
The Minister may—
approve a draft local strategic plan for a region submitted by Local Land Services, without alteration or with such alteration as the Minister thinks fit, or
refer the draft local strategic plan back to Local Land Services for further consideration.
The Minister is not to approve a draft local strategic plan unless the Minister—
is satisfied (having regard to the advice of any person or body to which the draft local strategic plan has been referred) that the plan promotes the achievement of State priorities for local land services (if any) so far as those priorities relate to the region, and
has sought the advice of any person or body engaged to carry out an independent audit of the activities of Local Land Services under section 24, and
has obtained the concurrence of the Minister administering the Native Vegetation Act 2003, but only in relation to those parts of the draft plan that relate to natural resource management.
Before making any alterations to the draft plan, the Minister must consult Local Land Services.
