88 Chair and Deputy Chair
The Minister may, in writing, appoint a person to be the Chair of the Development Consent Authority for 2 years or a lesser period specified in the instrument.
Before appointing a person as the Chair of the Development
Consent Authority, the Minister must be satisfied that the person has the skills, qualifications or experience to exercise the powers and perform the functions of that office.
The Minister may, in writing, appoint:
a member to be the Deputy Chair of the Development Consent
Authority; or
a member to be the Deputy Chair of the Development Consent
Authority in respect of one or more Divisions of the Authority.
If the Minister appoints a member to be the Deputy Chair of the
Development Consent Authority under subsection (2)(a), the Deputy
Chair is to act as the Chair during:
any period when the Chair appointed under subsection (1) is unable to attend a particular meeting; and
any vacancy in the office of Chair.
If the Minister appoints a member to be the Deputy Chair of the
Development Consent Authority in respect of a Division under subsection (2)(b), the Deputy Chair is to act as the Chair during:
any period when the Chair appointed under subsection (1) is unable to attend a particular meeting in relation to the Division;
and
any vacancy in the office of Chair, but only in relation to matters relating to the Division.
