11G Commissioner may require further information

(1)

The Commissioner may give a party to an application a notice requiring the party to give the Commissioner the information stated in the notice.

(2)

The Commissioner may, in the notice, require the person to do either or both of the following by the day stated in the notice —

(a)

provide evidence to support a claim made by the person; or

(b)

verify the information or evidence the person gives to the Commissioner by statutory declaration or in another way.

(3)

If the party does not comply with the requirement by the stated day, the Commissioner may decide the application without the person’s information and the notice given to the party under subsection (2) must state that fact.

(4)

The Commissioner may, in writing, extend the period stated in the notice.
